On April 4th, Litchfield Police arrested Patrick Roy, 22, of Manchester on one count of Resisting Arrest and two counts of Simple Assault against a Police Officer. At approximately 8 pm, Litchfield Police responded to a domestic disturbance on the side of Greenwich Road in Litchfield. Upon arrival, Officers investigated the domestic disturbance and determined that it was verbal in nature. Roy was intoxicated and when the police attempted to take him into protective custody, he fled the scene. After a short foot pursuit, Roy continued to resist and while doing so, intentionally struck one of the Officers in the face. Once in custody and back at the station, officers put a face mask on Roy for precautionary measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Roy then removed the face mask and spit on another Officer. Roy was released on personal recognizance bail and is set to appear in the 9th Circuit Court Merrimack Division on May 19th, 2020.
