Joseph Cabral Arrest
The Litchfield Police Department concluded an investigation into a criminal threat thatwas made against a public official during this past Monday’s Board of Selectmen meeting. The department was aware of an incident that occurred during the public input session of the meeting.Joseph J. Cabral, 67 years old of Litchfield, NH addressed the Board of Selectmen regarding concerns that he had over fees charged by the town in response to a 91-A request made by another town resident. While communicating with Chairman of the Board, Steven Webber,Joseph abruptly pointed his finger at Selectmen Brent Lemire and stated, “Don’t even go there will you. I’ll totally kill you right now.”
Following the investigation, the Litchfield Police Department applied for and received an arrest warrant for Joseph. After being advised of the warrant, Joseph voluntarily turned himself into the Litchfield Police Department without incident.
Joseph was released on personal recognizance and will be arraigned at the 9th Circuit- District Division in Merrimack on August 06, 2019 at 8:00 am. He was charged as follows:
Criminal Threatening (Class B Misdemeanor) and Disorderly Conduct (Violation).
